John Koterba is a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM), basketball enthusiast, powerlifter, and casual crossfit athlete — he’s no spring chicken! John has been involved in organized sports for over 2 decades, dating back to Pony League baseball, travel basketball, and symphonic and marching bands. At the University of Akron, John earned his degree in Business Administration with a Healthcare Administration concentration while working, participating in the Akron women’s basketball scrimmage/scout team, and performing duties as a sousaphone squad leader in the university’s marching band. John has never been the fastest, or the strongest, athlete in the room but he is always determined to be the best version of himself.
John worked for 10 years in software, wearing every hat in the DevOps pipeline other than ‘Developer.’ Throughout that time, John has continued to work on himself before pursuing a career helping others gain pain-free strength, confidence, and general wellbeing. John’s diverse background allows him to better connect with the struggles of a traditional office background and he has a unique understanding o how ‘real life’ can help or hinder progress.
Speaking of progress — John is an expert at progressing and regressing movements. Ongoing education through NASM and Barbell Rehab have equipped him to help patients find the right scaling for their bodies and their goals.
